Art For Amnesty Ambassador Of Conscience Awards
Stoney Road Press was at the Mansion House last Tuesday evening to join Amnesty International in honouring Malala Yousafzai and Harry Bellafonte with the Ambassador of Conscience Award. Having worked with Art for Amnesty for a number of years, we were happy to be able to contribute in a small way by producing the citations awarded to two such inspiring pioneers for human rights.
Malala Yousafzai has spent the majority of her young life campaigning for girls’ right to education in the face of terroism from the Taliban in her native Pakistan. She has received many awards for her work, including being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was presented with her Ambassador of Conscience Award on the night by Bono.
Harry Bellafonte has long been a activist for civil rights since his campaigning against racism with Martin Luther King in the 1950s. He has worked for many causes, particularly in Africa, and is a Unicef goodwill ambassador. Roger Waters was joined by Petula Clarke to present him with his Ambassador of Conscience award.
