Along with rare and previously unpublished material, there is also a significant text from Aidan Dunne – highly regarded art critic for the Irish Times.
About the Artist: Born in 1921 in Kilbrittain, County Cork, Patrick Scott studied Architecture in UCD. After graduation in 1945 he worked with the architect Michael Scott for the following fifteen years. He has devoted himself fully to painting since 1960, the year he won the Guggenheim Award.His paintings are in several important collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He represented Ireland in the XXX Venice Biennale; the Douglas Hyde Gallery held a major retrospective of his work in 1981 and the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin held a major survey in 2002. Patrick Scott was a founding member of Aosdána, and in July 2007 was conferred with the title of Saoi by President Mary McAleese.

Currently visual arts critic of the Irish Times, Aidan has written extensively on Irish art, with essays on Michael Mulcahy, Hughie O’Donoghue, and Jennifer Trouton.
